Surrendering Your Dog If you are reading this page because you are either curious about how dogs enter rescue, or because you are seriously contemplating giving up your dog...we can help! If you have not yet made up your mind about surrendering your dog, and have questions or concerns please contact us at: Surr@floridadoggiepaws.org
Florida Doggie Paws Rescue, Inc is an all volunteer group that relies on kind people to take a dog into their home and foster it until we can find its “forever home”. This limits us in the number of dogs we can keep in our rescue. We may ask you to hold the dog until we can find a suitable home (unless we have an available foster). We will ask you to:
Fill out and complete the owner surrender form
Send us pictures of the dog
Get us copies of the dog records from the vet
Sign an Owner Surrender form
After you have completed the owner surrender form, a FDPR representative will be in touch with you to discuss your options. Although surrendering your dog may be extremely difficult for you to do, it may be the best thing for you and your dog. You are providing your dog with a chance of a new home. We work hard to ensure your dog is placed in a permanent home. We understand this is a stressful time for you, and making the decision to find your dog another home is a difficult one. However, we can assure you FDPR will place your dog with a wonderful family who love and care for them for the rest of his/her life. Hopefully knowing this will make the process a little easier for you.
